Destination Summary

Cross beach in Belmullet is the main spot for boosting left-foot forward with winds to rival cape town from October - March each year and plenty inbetween. There is a lake 100m away for a flatwater session in many directions. A short drive away, Achill island has a perfect beach with right-foot forward kickers and another lake right beside the beach too. Here you will find a kitesurfing school and lodge 'Pure Magic' who hold the 'Battle for the Lake' kitesurfing and music festival each year. There is a little more atmosphere and 'craic' as we say in Ireland on Achill Island.
