Destination Summary

Dominican Republic

Cabarete has a strong kite culture, with many locals as well as tourists on the water daily. Popular spots like Bozo and Kite beach can get crowded, but there's always enough room for everyone.

Wind can blow all year, but it's best from March to September, with waves rolling in during winter. DR has lots of spots to choose from, with a mix of flat water, open chop, swell and waves there's something for beginners and experts alike.

With water and air temps always pleasant, the vibe in DR is pretty relaxed. You can find decent food right on the beach and nightlife is usually good.
