If you're in Florida and looking for some of the best flat water shallow around Cocoa Beach is your place.

The 520 slick features miles miles of shallow flat water. The bottom can be shelly so bring booties to avoid cuts. North winds generated by winter cold fronts are what give the slick its name, north breezes come over the mangroves making for perfectly flat conditions.

Kelly park is further up the banana river lagoon and is great for East winds.

If you're looking for waves Cherie down park has wide beaches for launching, relatively empty and solid 3-5 foot waves on an average winter day.
