Destination Summary

Matanzas

Just 2:30 from the capital Santiago, we will welcome you at Matanzas! It´s a world class destination, with beautiful scenery, mixture of farm landscapes falling straight to several beaches and spots. When the southerly winds hit the coast, the "Surazo" will delight you with perfect conditions.

At La Boca, you´ll find a gorgeous flat ideal for beginners or when you need to practice techniques, surrounded by swans. Immediately to the south, we have Las Brisas, a wide beach and access point to Roca Cuadrada, where a looooong perfect left wave will embrace you. Then there is Matanzas, where besides from great conditions, you´ll share the spot with windsurfers and in low wind days, you may surf your ass out.

Big Air seekers will go straight to Pupuya, where whitecaps as far as the eye can see and kickers of all sizes will help you go directly to the stratosphere. Up to this spot, all of them are within a 20' ride apart. Further down south, 30' from Pupuya, you´ll get to Puertecillo, perfect spot for surfing and on strong Surazo days, also good for kiting. For the more adventurous bit of the destination, you may organize a day to Topocalma.

The whole area is thriving with restaurants and stylish club houses, such as La Lobera in Pupuya or Surazo in Matanzas. Additionally, should you have bad bad luck and get a week without wind, there are bike trails and wine country tours within reach. Best season to come is from late august to early april, spring and summer. Expect chilly southern pacific water, so bring your wet suit, 7m and 9m kites, twin tip and surfboard and you´ll enjoy Chile at its best!
